Technology could replace us. Doesn't mean it will
You can now work, shop, eat, bank, socialise and be entertained without ever stepping outside. A full and productive life is available from your sofa.
That means transport should be virtually unnecessary - why go anywhere?
And yet, most people still go out every day: not because they have to, but because they want to.
Transport doesn’t exist because it’s essential anymore; it exists because human connection is.
That’s worth remembering when we talk about what AI could do. Doesn’t mean it will because people are still people.
👉 This blog post outlines why I think the world of AI work will still be human.
Take Action
If you’re a leader
Design around human behaviour, not just technical possibility. The lesson of recent decades is that people will continue to choose connection over pure technical convenience.
If you’re a team member
AI is going to automate a lot. But human connection will still be crucial so lean into the work that machines can't replicate.
